A candid conversation with Loretta E. Lynch, U.S. Attorney, Eastern District New York. Ms. Lynch will share her insights on what women can do to best position themselves for success. Ms. Lynch was appointed by President Barack Obama and on May 3, 2010, took the oath of office as United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York from Chief United States District Judge Raymond J. Dearie. In that capacity, she is responsible for overseeing all federal criminal and civil investigations involving cases in Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, as well as Nassau and Suffolk Counties on Long Island. She supervises a staff of approximately 170 attorneys and 150 support personnel.

Description of Program: The program will explore various paths to success for women lawyers, while pointing out the common elements of a successful career. This is an important program for associates and young lawyers. The reality is that most associates, male and female, do not become partners at their firms (whether by choice or not), and, therefore there is great benefit to understanding the many different ways to optimize their careers. Law firms too benefit when their alums achieve excellence in other settings.
